Wednesday: Arrival & Easy Evening

August 13, 2025

🌤️ Forecast: Partly cloudy and very warm. High near 85°F (29°C). A chance of rain later at night.

✈️ 1:50 PM Flight lands at PVD. Time to grab our bags and the rental car!
🏨 3:45 PM Check into the hotel and get settled.
🏊 4:00 PM Downtime! First priority: Cameron gets a fun swim in the hotel pool.
🍽️ 5:30 PM Head out for an early, casual dinner.
East Side Pockets: Quick, order-at-the-counter spot with amazing falafel pitas.
Alternate: If we have the energy, Venda Ravioli on Federal Hill has a great piazza setting.
🌙 7:00 PM Relaxed evening. We can take a short walk if the mood is right, or head back to the hotel to wind down.

August 14, 2025

🌧️ Forecast: Light rain likely (55% chance). High near 81°F (27°C). A good day for the zoo's indoor exhibits!

💡 Rainy Day Plan: If the zoo is a washout, the Providence Children's Museum is a fantastic indoor alternative.

🍳 8:00 AM Wake up and enjoy a relaxed breakfast at the hotel.
🦓 9:30 AM Meet family at the Roger Williams Park Zoo for a morning of animal adventures!
🧺 1:00 PM Lunchtime! Picnic in the park with the family (or find a spot indoors if it's raining).
👨‍👩‍👧 2:30 PM Head to family's home in Cranston to relax and spend the afternoon together.
🍽️ 5:30 PM Dinner with the family!
Tallulah's Taqueria: Awesome, order-at-the-counter spot for incredible fish tacos.
Other Great Options:
• Iron Works Tavern: Cool historic building, still casual.
• Iggy's Doughboys: Super casual RI experience.
• Venda Ravioli: Fun piazza setting on Federal Hill.

August 15, 2025

☀️ Forecast: Sunny and beautiful! High near 79°F (26°C). Looks like a perfect day for the beach!

🏖️ 9:30 AM Drive south to Salty Brine State Beach for its super calm water. (Backup: Narragansett Town Beach).
🌊 10:15 AM Beach time! Perfect for Cameron to splash around without waves. We can watch the ferries go by!
🍽️ 1:15 PM Lunch in Galilee.
George's of Galilee: A landmark right on the water with casual window service.
Alternate: Pack a picnic to eat right on the beach!
🍦 2:30 PM Time for a treat at the famous Brickley's Ice Cream nearby.
🚗 3:15 PM Scenic coastal drive north on Ocean Rd (Rt. 1A). View the route through historic Wickford Village.
🏊 5:00 PM Back at the hotel for downtime and more pool fun for Cameron.
🍽️ 6:00 PM Head out for our final big dinner.
Food Trucks at Carousel Village: A fun, lively option with lots of variety right in Roger Williams Park.

August 16, 2025

☀️ Forecast: Sunny and pleasant. High near 81°F (27°C). Great for the farmers market.

🍓 9:30 AM Visit the Hope Street Farmers Market to browse local goodies and soak up the atmosphere.
🥐 11:45 AM Grab a final delicious and casual lunch.
Seven Stars Bakery: A beloved local institution for amazing sandwiches and pastries.
🛍️ 1:00 PM Last chance for any souvenir shopping before heading to the airport.
🚗 2:45 PM Drive to PVD airport and return the rental car.
✈️ 5:05 PM Flight #3778 departs. Time to head home after a wonderful trip!

Den Den Cafe Asiana: Casual spot for delicious Korean & Japanese food (sushi, bibimbap).
The Grange: A slightly nicer but still relaxed restaurant with fantastic vegetarian, vegan, and pescatarian dishes.
Like No Udder: A fun all-vegan ice cream shop for a special treat.

Neutaconkanut Hill Conservancy: Easy trails right in Providence with nice city views.
Ten Mile River Greenway: A flat, paved path along the river, perfect for a simple family walk.
Lincoln Woods State Park: A short drive away, featuring a lovely, easy path around a pond.
